What kind of paint do I use on oak veneer & clear acrylic lacquer (Ikea furniture)?

I have those ';Malm'; chests of drawers from Ikea and I'm looking to paint them from their yellowish oak color to a dark chocolate brown. What is the easiest way to paint over oak veneer and clear acrylic lacquer? What kind of paint do I use on oak veneer %26amp; clear acrylic lacquer (Ikea furniture)?
A light sand on the lacquer one to two coats of Kilz primer and you are good to go with whatever paint you choose....oil based paint usually better for furniture as far as durabilityWhat kind of paint do I use on oak veneer %26amp; clear acrylic lacquer (Ikea furniture)?
Most interior woodwork looks best in an eggshell finish, as high-gloss paint can have a rather bleak, deadening effect. If your plan is to paint walls, ceiling, and trim, then it鈥檚 best to get the trim painted first, along with the room鈥檚 windows and doors. Paint woodwork in small sections. Keeping a wet edge to avoid lap marks.
Sand off the laquer or strip it off with laquer remover so paint sticks.
