How can I take a good picture of a clear acrylic cutting board? There is wording in the middle of the board I want the viewer to see. I'm having problems with the reflections and lighting.Tips for taking a picture of clear acrylic?
Your main light (large soft box) positioned behind the object - tape black card to it, so it holds light off the wording and the edges of the product. Basically creating stripes of light and shadow.
Don't forget to make sure that your main light doesn't flare your lens. A black card flag will prevent it happening.
Keep your fill light soft, preferably bounced off white reflectors (polystyrene works fine).Tips for taking a picture of clear acrylic?
Put the cutting board on dark fabric and use soft lighting. Shoot from an angle, playing attention to the background, to minimize reflections.
Not unlike this setup: http://www.flickr.com/photos/samfeinstei鈥?/a>
